This is the second of our three-part series on oral and pharyngeal cancer (OPC) in Florida.1 Research for this second report was driven by our desire to broaden our understanding of trends in OPC incidence. Our previous publications provided evidence that the public knows little about OPC. Moreover, the actions taken by most members of the public are based on the notion that if OPC were important, dentists and doctors would have talked to them about it.2-7
